Transferring an already assigned phone to a new user.
These instructions are directly for a LIP-9030 phone but are similar for most if not all of the iPECS range of phones.
In order to move a phone that is already registered on the platform to another user you will need to follow this process to reset and reassign it to a new user:
- Delete the obsolete extension to free up the MAC address for reassignment in the portal.
- Assign the Device and MAC address to the new user.
At this point you would expect the phone to power up and connect as the new user but this is not the case. This is due to it retaining the old device ID related to the original user.
The cloud portal can get funny if you just try and modify the device ID so it is better to wipe the desk phone back to defaults and reconfigure it from scratch for the new user.
- Power up the phone
- When it flashes connecting on the screen press the Transfer key until it says SET[*] – RESTART[#]
- Press *
- Enter the password 147*
- Choose Option 3 then Option 2 and say yes (this clears all profiles on the phone)
- Press the Back softkey
- Choose Option 1 – Profile and OK
- Make sure Profile 1 is highlighted and press OK again
- Make sure 1.Network Configuration is highlighted and click OK
- Choose Option 2 – Network Mode
- Choose DHCP and OK
- Press the Back softkey
- Choose Option 2 – System Configuration and OK
- Choose Option 1 – Call Server and OK
- Type 185*110*180*??? and OK
- this server IP address can change per Customer so change ??? as required)
- Choose Option 3 – Connection mode and OK
- Choose Remote and OK
- Press the Back softkey
- Press the Speaker button on the handset
- Choose Yes to reboot the phone.
When the phone has rebooted it will likely come back on with Enter Auth Code on the screen. This just means the user needs to be logged in but in this particular scenario it will require the full tenant id, username, password and # to be entered.
The tenant id is unique to each Customer and depending on the users assigned license and features it will change the DN number of the extension.
- Users with more than one assigned voice device e.g. LIP-9030 and UCE with voice the DN number will be prefixed with 696
- Users with a single device will not be prefixed
The login sequence is as follows and must be entered with no spaces:
Tenent ID + DN number + Password + #
e.g.
for multi-user: 69136969612341234#
Tenent ID = 691369
DN number = 6961234
Password = 1234
Entry Code = #
for single-user: 69136912341234#
Tenent ID = 691369
DN number = 1234
Password = 1234
Entry Code = #
Once the phone has been logged back in it will have created itself a new device ID again.
